As a business coach, I frequently get bombarded with questions like “what other things do I need to do to grow my business?”. I guess I get asked this mainly because business owners pay me to grow their businesses and operating under my business model, if the business doesn’t grow, then I don’t get paid.
There are many things that contribute to a successful business and it’s continual growth. The core elements are: Sales, Marketing, Leadership, Systems and Mindset. All of these elements play a significant role in contributing to the success of your business. However, as business owners, you guys are already so busy and working with someone like me maybe not at the top your mind and it can also be a bit overwhelming.
When it is time to work on the business, most business owners try to do everything and then lose momentum or become overwhelmed because their attention is split. As a business owner, you are already running a business and if it is in the process of growing, there is no need to change everything.
As a busy business owner, ask yourself “if I could only choose one thing to improve and if I improve it beyond exception, what would that one thing be that will have a positive impact and improve everything in the business?”. And when you can confidently answer that question, then you can start to develop some plans and strategies to successfully grow your business.
When I work my clients, it takes us about 30 days to work out what that one thing is. We need to be certain that it is the right thing because if we get it wrong, the business growth will not be there and I don’t get paid.
